Texan Eye is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We believe that every patient and visitor deserves equal access to information about our services, locations, and care team — regardless of the technology they use or the accessibility needs they have.

Our Commitment

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

Measures We Take

To support accessibility, Texan Eye takes the following measures:

  • We include accessibility as part of our ongoing website development and review process.
  • We use semantic HTML to help screen readers and assistive technologies interpret page structure correctly.
  • We provide alternative text for meaningful images throughout the site.
  • We maintain sufficient color contrast between text and background elements.
  • We design for keyboard navigability so users who do not use a mouse can navigate our site.
  • We test our site using assistive technologies and accessibility evaluation tools.

Known Limitations

While we aim for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some content on our site may not yet meet all guidelines. Areas we are actively working to improve include:

  • Third-party content, embedded forms, and scheduling tools — which are managed by external providers and may have their own accessibility limitations.
  • Older PDF documents, including patient forms — which may not be fully accessible to screen readers. Please contact us if you need these materials in an alternative format.
  • Video content — we are working to ensure that all video content includes accurate captions and, where appropriate, audio descriptions.

We are continually working to improve accessibility across the site. If you encounter a barrier before we have had the opportunity to address it, please let us know.

Alternative Access

Physical Accessibility

All four Texan Eye locations are designed to accommodate patients with physical disabilities. Our offices include accessible parking, accessible entrances, and exam rooms and restrooms that meet ADA requirements. If you have specific accessibility needs when visiting one of our locations, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
