Blurred Vision
Blurred vision refers to a loss of sharpness that makes it difficult to see fine detail. It may stem from refractive errors like nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, or signal conditions such as cataracts or corneal disease requiring evaluation.
Dry Eyes
Dry eye occurs when your eyes don’t produce enough tears or the tears evaporate too quickly. Symptoms include stinging, burning, and a gritty sensation. Left untreated, it can affect your quality of life and visual clarity, an eye doctor can determine the cause and the right treatment.
Eyelid Issues
Drooping, twitching, or inflamed eyelids can affect both comfort and vision. Conditions like blepharitis, ptosis, and chalazion are treatable, and in some cases, eyelid malposition can cause significant visual impairment.
Night Driving Problems
Difficulty seeing at night, especially oncoming headlights or street signs, is often linked to cataracts, an uncorrected refractive error, or early corneal changes. A comprehensive exam can identify the cause.
Halos
Seeing halos or starbursts around lights, particularly at night, is a common early indicator of cataracts or corneal irregularity. It can also appear after refractive surgery and should be evaluated by an ophthalmologist.
Astigmatism
Astigmatism is a common refractive error caused by an irregular curve in the cornea or lens, resulting in blurred or distorted vision at all distances. It’s highly treatable, an evaluation can determine whether LASIK, EVO, or toric lens implants are the best fit.
Distance Vision Problems
If objects in the distance appear blurry while close objects are clear, you are likely nearsighted (myopia), one of the most common refractive errors. It can be corrected with glasses, contacts, or refractive surgery like LASIK.
Trouble Reading
Difficulty reading up close, especially if it’s worsened over time, is often presbyopia, a natural age-related change in focusing ability. An eye doctor can walk you through options, including Refractive Lens Exchange, to restore near vision.
