About Dr. Sanchez

Dr. Cecilia Sanchez is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who sub-specializes in the medical treatment of retinal diseases, with a particular focus on diabetic eye disease. She is a graduate of the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg and received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and her ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Following her residency, Dr. Sanchez completed a one-year fellowship in medical retina at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston — one of the world’s leading institutions for diabetes care — with a primary focus on diabetic eye disease. She also trained at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard Vanguard clinics, where she developed expertise in macular degeneration, vein occlusions, retinal tears, and other retinal conditions. Dr. Sanchez welcomes all adult patients with diabetes and retinal disorders.
